Richard D. LaFargue, President and founder of LaFargue Financial Group, has over 22 years experience in the financial services industry.  

Richard has earned several designations over the years. Since 1982, the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) has remained the most extensive education available for professionals seeking a designation in financial planning. The ChFC program includes all of the courses in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) curriculum, and builds on that knowledge with advanced coverage of estate, retirement, and financial planning applications.

He is also a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) which is widely recognized as the highest level of studies in the life insurance profession. Since 1927, 94,000 individuals have earned this distinction, enabling them to present a wider range of solutions for the life insurance needs of individuals, business owners and professionals, including income replacement, estate planning, and wealth transfer.

Richard is a former member of the Arkansas Razorback Football team. He played from 1972-1975 with the 1976 Cotton Bowl victory over Georgia being his final razorback game. He was named All-SWC and honorable mention All American following his senior season. He went on to be drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Along with sports, Richard also enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors with his family. Richard and his wife, Jane, live in Northwest Arkansas. They have two grown children, and one grandchild. Their daughter Kori lives in Broken Arrow, OK and works for Ameripath as a marketing representative. Their son Derek lives in Springdale and is the president of Metro Insurance, Inc., an independent insurance agency.
